10 Years of Going Red & AHA Lobby Day

Marianne Frazee, owner of Frazee Recruiting Consultants, Inc., is an active member of the American Heart Association’s Capital Region “Circle of Red,” a powerful, passionate group of women dedicated to making an impact in the Baton Rouge community’s fight against heart disease.

Each February, she participates in the “Go Red for Women Luncheon,” which this year celebrated the 10th anniversary of America Going Red! 100% of the funds raised went to support local research and education, making a positive impact on the lives of women in the Baton Rouge community and across the U.S.

Circle of Red members, as well as other AHA advocates, headed to the State Capitol for the AHA Lobby Day on March 19th. This year’s primary focus was in making Louisiana CPR Smart! Advocates were welcomed with a lunch at the Old Pentagon Barracks, saw a hands-on CPR demonstration, and were briefed on a very important piece of legislation – House Bill 542. HB 542 is legislation ensuring that all high school students receive hands-on training in CPR before they graduate. Advocates had an opportunity to meet with legislators and discuss the importance of passing this bill.
